Darien Lodge Fishing Package – From 2½ to 10½ fishing days | Luxury Lodge

🛬🎣 DAY 1: Arrival to Medellin Airport, Colombia. Our host will be waiting to pick you up at the Medellin Airport and take you to the Diez hotel. Then you fly to Bahía Solano, have lunch at the boat and start fishing at noon.

🎣DAYS 2-10: Fishing Days. Jigging, popping and y shing specialists at the last frontier of sportfishing. Amazing variety of species. Located 32 miles from world famous Tropic Star Lodge.

🛫 LAST DAY: Departure to Medellin Airport, Colombia. Arrival at 1PM.

About the Darien Lodge, Colombia Sportfishing Package

Bahía Solano sits in the most remote corner of the entire continental tropical eastern Pacific Coast. Surrounded by hundreds of km and no roads in any direction, Bahia Solano is a nature lovers paradise.

WiFi connection at the lodge and cell phone signal is available at the lodge by the service provider Claro.

Currency: Colombian Peso. Please make sure you bring enough to settle extra expenses in town and tips. Tips can be done in Dollars but pesos is more convenient for the staff.

As April arrives so do packs of feeding sail sailfish that can be found as close as 1 mile from the beach, double and triple ups being common. As the summer progresses, the marlin bite improves, making June – November the time to target your grand slam in near at-calm seas.
This coincides with the rainy season, when huge lines of debris from the rivers form o shore in the rips of the Humboldt and Panama Currents, and it’s here that marlin, tuna and our world famous monster mahi-mahi come to play!

The wahoo show up in numbers in early August and all year you can expect the Wild Pacific waters to come alive with yellowfin tuna ranging from footballs to 200 pound behemoths.

Tarpon crossed the Panama Canal and now thrive here, we have caught tarpon up to 250 pounds and hook giants over 150 pounds regularly, making this a world record all tackle tarpon fishery.

About the Fishing Charter

Our 38 ft. and two 36 ft. center consoles are designed and built specifically for popping, livebait and jigging with 2 Suzuki motors of 300 hp and 200 hp. Both boats are equipped with tuna tubes, 13 ft. front platform, sonar, livewell, JL music systems, and top of the line popping, jigging, fly fishing and livebait tackle.

We operate 4 boats and are based 58 miles north of the town of Bahia Solano and 35 miles from Tropic Star lodge away from any other anglers. This means minimum fishing pressure and personalized service.

While Colombia’s coast line is relatively new to sportfishing, the famous waters around our lodge have produced more world records than anywhere else. Offshore fishing is no short of amazing, the biggest Mahi in the planet live here.

Isolated from the modern world, you fish and stay in a wild jungle paradise with countless
types of trophy fish all around.

During July – November, it is possible to see hundreds of humpback whales who migrate into the warm deep waters of Bahía Solano to mate and give birth.
